Your Arkansas Hunt Checklist

Requirements and weather conditions can change. Confirm your licenses, equipment and meeting instructions before leaving for Arkansas.

Licenses & Registration

Make sure every hunter has the required documents before arriving at the hunting location.

  • Valid Arkansas hunting license
  • Appropriate small-game hunting privileges
  • Federal Duck Stamp
  • Arkansas state waterfowl privileges or stamp
  • Current HIP registration

Shotgun & Ammunition

Bring a dependable shotgun and enough legal non-toxic ammunition for the hunt.

  • 12-gauge or 20-gauge shotgun
  • Non-toxic or steel-shot ammunition
  • Duck loads in 3-inch or 3½-inch shells
  • No. 1 or No. 2 shot commonly used for ducks
  • BB or T shot commonly used for geese
  • Protective shotgun case

Clothing & Footwear

Arkansas winter weather can range from mild and wet to freezing, windy and bitterly cold. Pack layers.

  • Warm camouflage clothing
  • Moisture-wicking base layers
  • Insulated jacket and waterproof outer layer
  • Camouflage facemask or face covering
  • Gloves and warm hat
  • Waders appropriate for the hunt
  • Warm socks and waterproof boots

Guide Gratuities

Guide gratuities are not included in hunt pricing. The existing guide service recommends approximately $20–$40 per hunter, per hunt, based on service and experience.

What the Lodge Provides

The lodging facilities are furnished for hunting groups. Guests should plan to bring their own food, drinks and charcoal or other cooking supplies they expect to use.
